Cables, brackets and add-on cameras: what to settle first
Nothing on this shelf is bought first. It is bought on the second evening, when the cable in the box turned out to be five feet short of the tailgate, or when the suction mount that came with the kit gave up in August, or when the monitor you own takes two cameras and only one is fitted. Read the code off the back of your monitor (Y13, Y27, Y142, RX50) and match it, because that code is the whole compatibility question and a photograph will not settle it. Measure the run with a tape laid where the cable will lie, not along the vehicle, and add a foot of slack at each end. On a rig it is the 43-foot cable that reaches. And if your camper came with a bracket and a plug above the rear window already, the pig tail is the ten-dollar piece that joins a Yakry camera to it, which is a shorter job than any of the rest.

What does the pig tail plug do on your Yakry system?
It joins a camera to the connector a pre-wired rig already carries behind the bracket cover above the rear window, so nothing has to be cut or spliced.
